Welcome!

Southgate Woods is a townhouse community of 136 all-brick exterior homes built in 1972. We are located in the thriving Lorton community of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia. The Fairfax County Park Authority owns approximately one acre of open land in the middle of our community. The children use this area for football, soccer, softball and birthday activities. We have four tot lot areas with sidewalks and asphalt walkways for easy access to different parts of the community. Each home is assigned two parking spaces and there is limited visitor parking.

Public transportation is readily accessible with the Fairfax Connector bus service, VRE (Virginia Railway Express) service  and the Washington Metro subway system.

 

 Shopping, restaurants entertainment, and recreation are plentiful and nearby. Historical sites such as George Washington's Mt. Vernon,  George Mason's Gunston Hall, and Old Town Alexandria provide a glimpse into our nation's early history.

The public elementary school is Gunston Elementary School - www.fcps.edu/GunstonES/index.html - and for grades 7 to 12 students attend Hayfield Secondary School - www.fcps.edu/HayfieldSS/
